Darin J. Bushman
Executive Director
Before joining the AOG, Darin led the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services within the Utah Department of Public Safety, overseeing regulatory functions, licensing, compliance, and grant programs supporting EMS across the state. He also spent over a decade as a Piute County Commissioner, where he held prominent leadership roles including Chairman of the Six County AOG Regional Growth and Economic Development Commission, Vice President of the Utah Association of Counties, and long-time member of the National Association of Counties (NACo) Public Lands Steering Committee. He is also a past recipient of the NACo Dale Sowards Outstanding Public Lands Official Award and USU’s Excellence in Community Development Award.
In addition to his public service, Darin has built and managed multiple successful businesses, including a multi-million-dollar e-commerce operation and a fabrication and product development company. He brings a hands-on, fiscally conservative approach to leadership, with a deep commitment to rural communities, responsible growth, and ensuring local voices are represented at every level of government.
Darin holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Utah State University and a minor in Business Information Systems.When he’s not at work, Darin enjoys woodworking, restoring old homes, and riding his Can-Am three-wheeled motorcycle. He and his wife are proud empty nesters with three adult children and recently became grandparents for the first time in June 2025. They also share their dog Tonka.
